24 Aug 25 Years of Ram Records
Come celebrate a quarter century of Ram Records. The brainchild of Andy C and Ant Miles has consistently led the way in drum & bass since the beginning, at the forefront of hardcore’s evolution to jungle in 92, leading the sound’s evolution toward the end of the 90s and breaking earth-shattering acts like Chase & Status and Sub Focus in the past decade.
The Ram Records club nights too, are part of drum & bass folklore. From The End, Matter and a more nomadic recent past, Ram nights never fail to get the thousands in attendance jumping. For this special anniversary show you can expect levels of partying unlike anything that’s gone before.
Andy C’s headline set takes us on a two-hour journey of stone cold classics and underground gems from across his musical lifetime and that of the label. Plenty of rep for the newer school, too, with the likes of Rene LaVice, Wilkinson and Killbox holding it down along with MCs Texas, 2Shy and Tonn Piper.
Next door is headed up by the young superstar Frankee, whose label-launching release on Program! kicked off a new era for Ram. Joining him are veteran schoolfriends Moving Fusion and Shimon, who were instrumental in the evolution of drum & bass from jungle.
The night represents the consistent contribution Ram Records has made to drum & bass, with pioneering artists right there at the sounds conception all the way to the present day. Witness the evolution of the UKs most singular sound.
