07 Oct What DJ’s Play: Glume
Fresh from a heavyweight release on iconic dubstep label Crucial Records with ‘Opal’ [a collab with another of Bristol’s rising 140 DJs, Phossa], Glume has seen high acclaim across the spectrum of bass music, evident by his inclusion in RedBull’s ‘UK producers you need to know about’ feature released earlier this year.
We had a little chat with him to find out what the top tunes he’s spinning at the moment were, here’s what he had to say.
Headland & Samba – Salt Talk
“This is always a highlight in any set for me, can’t remember the last time I played and didn’t reach for it. Two of my favourite names on one track and it delivers every time.”
Rocks Foe – Bogus
“I don’t play many vocal tunes but this has to be an exception. Rocks Foe truly has his own thing going on, both on the mic and when producing, and this is one of the best examples of both.”
Phossa – Kindred
“This list can’t be complete with out something from my regular collab partner Phossa. Great tune to switch it up and take it out of the endless darkness that dubstep can become. Love this tune, but rate the rest of the EP just as much (keep your eyes peeled).”
Ternion Sound – Ukandu Ikandu
“Again, another tune that instantly gets a big reaction. The way the sub fades in always catches people off guard, its an inarguable banger.”
Rygby – Pasqualina
“Another one of my favourite producers in 140 at the minute. This is one of a few songs of his I love playing out at the moment but this one is especially unique, really nothing else like it.”
We’re gassed to have Glume jump on decks for a tasty B2B session with another young gun of dubstep Chokez for The Blast: Halloween Carnival of the Dead at Motion this November, don’t miss it!: moti.onl/blasthalloween
